The Gueridon Table and The Chippendale Chair

The Gueridon Table and The Chippendale Chair

Sometimes we all need a quiet corner to retreat to for a little calming relaxation. Perhaps a glass of wine and a favorite book to help set the mood for a bit of me time.

The world renowned British cabinet maker Thomas Chippendale is the inspiration for this edition.  The Workshop Wizard has adorned his Chippendale Armchair with carvings and petite Ball & Claw feet.

The Chippendale Chair

All of Ferd’s editions are designed to go well with one another. Note how beautifully this chair compliments another of his editions below that was also inspired by still another master cabinetmaker, George Hepplewhite. Ferd’s Gueridon Tables have Hepplewhite inspired leg inlays designed to draw the eye up and down the slender leg.

The  Gueridon Table

Ferd created this delicate leg inlay by twisting two different colored threads around one another.  If this is something you might wish to learn how to do, he has a DIY tutorial in his latest book available at his online bookstore. Each of his staggered height Gueridon Tables  is available as a single, a matching height pair, or as a trio. Those choices may be seen in photos on his blog.

Delight your eyes and check out the blog for more from The Workshop Wizard.  All of Ferd’s editions are 1/12th scale, and all are available on his easy layaway plan. Maybe you need a little corner for some much needed relaxation and perhaps we might be able to help decorate it.
